The tradition kicked off in 2008 after the band wrapped an 8-day recording session in Cholla Bay. What started as a spontaneous post-recording jam at JJ’s Cantina quickly evolved into the beloved January Jam.

Today, the event has grown beyond its original spot, spreading across multiple venues in Rocky Point while always circling back to the iconic steps of JJ’s Cantina overlooking the bay. Roger Clyne is now a co-owner of this legendary beach bar, alongside others who call Rocky Point home.
