While the setting was truly relaxing, the home lacked the home away from home feel. The home was well stocked and had a clean bathroom, but the beds were not comfortable at all. There were spider webs in every corner.
Beautiful view
Incredible view of the ocean and house came with everything we needed. Will definitely be back
This cottage is well hidden from the street but, once you find the driveway & walk down the garden path, you'll be welcomed by an incredible view & a cottage that will take you back in time. The woodwork is from a bygone era where craftsmanship was standard & the furnishings help to preserve that nostalgic feeling. I rose each day to watch the sun rise & stayed out in the shade of a magnificent old tree as much as I could to fully take in the sea air. The library was a lovely place to retreat to when the morning got too hot, until the sun hit those windows. By then the tree once again offered enough shade to return to the yard. It was a truly restful solo getaway!
This is a very beautiful view with a very rustic Cottage. Can tell it was once a very loved and cared for property definitely needs some new windows to keep the bugs out. It’s very affordable. I appreciated the stay but definitely felt uncomfortable.
This cottage was like stepping back in time to a wealthy artist's retreat on the ocean. The location is lovely. Once we were able to get our large truck into the narrow entrance (2 granite pillars making it tight), the walk to the cottage was enchanting (ignoring the odd containers & abandoned sheds). The flowers and trees lined the path & opened up to a gorgeous ocean view. My partner even made it down on the granite stones to cast a few times. The interior is dark, but detailed. The living room furniture is fairly new, and the linens & towels were all new too. There is a heat pump for heat & air which we did not use. The library furniture is very old and has a story to tell, we didn't use this room. The windows are all old, but do open for fresh air. The kitchen was tiny, but manageable. The old statues in the loft look like they once lined the grounds which are now a bit unkept. Again, my gut tells me a writer/artist spent their summers here for inspiration! It's not perfect, but if the weather's good you will be happy you had the experience to make up your own story about the lives lived in this cottage back in it's time! Rustic, but just because it's old and needs some love...at one time this property was someone's paradise!
