If you love charm in a home, this is your place. It is conveniently located, quiet, safe and has a beautiful yard.
The view of the ocean from the south facing windows was beautiful. The location was great, being able to walk down to the seawall and the famous Gloucester fisherman statue, and to George's Restaurant for breakfast. Getting to the house from Route 128 was easy and fairly direct.
This was a gorgeous home full of character. We enjoyed our honeymoon here and the top floor room with the tub was amazing! The only things I would note are, having a TV in the top floor room would have been amazing and there was a stair on the top floor staircase that felt like it was going to cave in, so we avoided that step just as an FYI!
The Longview House feels more like staying in a friend's home than a rental unit. It is a spacious house in a great location close to everything, with plenty of room and separate spaces for our group of four families. It is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The home is exceptionally well-stocked with games, books, local information, kitchen needs, and plenty of towels for our group of nine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend Longview House!
The house was ideal for our family of 5 adults in town for a wedding. We enjoyed the house amenities and location.
When we arrived at this Massachusetts home, the experience was immediately uncomfortable. The entire house was dark with no front porch light on, so I had to use my flashlight just to see the keypad and enter the door code. As soon as we got inside, the ADT alarm started blaring — which was alarming, especially since we were later told it shouldn’t have even been active. Once inside, the house had a very eerie feeling — like we weren’t supposed to be there. There were mirrors, doors, and closets everywhere, which only added to the unsettling atmosphere. Ultimately, we decided to leave shortly after arriving. If you’re someone who enjoys spooky or mysterious settings, maybe this place will appeal to you. But for us, it just didn’t feel welcoming or prepared for guests.
