Overview
Soak in the hot tub as redwood shadows lengthen across the deck of this dog-friendly hillside home, ten minutes off the highway but a world away near Cazadero. Four bedrooms and three baths sleep eight, with a gas fireplace inside and a firepit out back. Northwood Golf Club sits 8 miles down the road; Armstrong Redwoods and the Sonoma Coast are within a half-hour drive.
Spend mornings with coffee on the deck as light filters through the redwoods, afternoons swinging clubs at Northwood Golf Club (8 miles) or wandering the giants at Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, and evenings around the firepit after a Sonoma Coast State Park beach day at Goat Rock. Settle into the living room where sunlight pours through oversized windows and a leather recliner faces the gas fireplace beneath a wall-mounted TV — exposed timber beams overhead keep the cabin feel. Cook on the granite-topped island with stainless appliances and a four-seat breakfast bar, the open layout keeping whoever's stirring the sauce in the conversation. Gather the group at the dining table under the timber-beamed ceiling and chandelier when dinner's ready. Cooling note: ceiling fans and cross-breezes only — no central cooling, which the forest canopy and elevation generally handle on their own. OUTDOOR LIVING Step onto the upper deck for alfresco meals at the dining table under the red umbrella, with forested views in every direction. Pour a glass at the lower brick paver patio, where a square fire table anchors woven seating for nightcaps under the stars. Slip into the private hot tub when the fog rolls in. A raised-bed vegetable garden and artificial-turf play area round out the yard for kids and dogs. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Four bedrooms sleep up to eight across three full baths: - Bedroom 1: King bed - Bedroom 2: King bed - Bedroom 3: Queen bed - Bedroom 4: Queen bed PROPERTY AMENITIES - Private hot tub on the deck - Gas fireplace in the living room - Gas grill for outdoor cooking - Firepit and outdoor dining - Dog-friendly with enclosed yard - In-unit washer and dryer A heads-up for the drive in: Russian River area roads are narrow and windy, and the home sits on a hillside with stairs — worth knowing before you book. Quiet hours 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.; max occupancy eight.
Climb up to a wall of windows on the upper level — treehouse-feel, towering evergreens, and a stone fireplace under exposed beams — then drift out to the private hot tub on the deck. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with an enclosed yard, outdoor dining, and a BBQ. Punch in the keypad code on arrival; up to six cars fit on-site (the garage stays closed).
Your Cazadero retreat sits in the heart of Sonoma County's most secluded redwood canyon, where Austin Creek winds through towering coast redwoods. Just 2.1 miles away, Cazadero General Store provides essentials and local character. For heartier provisions, Bartlett's Market in Monte Rio is 4.4 miles, while Safeway in Guerneville is 4 miles for full grocery runs. Adventure surrounds you — hike the Islands in the Sky Trailhead (4.1 miles), explore Patterson Point Preserve (3.3 miles), or head to the famous Goat Rock Beach (5 miles) where the Russian River meets the Pacific. Wine lovers can taste at nearby Porter-Bass Winery (5.7 miles) or the renowned Korbel Winery (5.8 miles). Dining options cluster in nearby Guerneville: grab authentic Mexican at Guerneville Taco Truck (3.9 miles), upscale comfort food at Saucy Mama's (3.7 miles), or fresh sushi at ZENSHI (3.9 miles).
Cazadero is about an hour and 45 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive into a quiet redwood canyon. You'll have parking for up to 6 vehicles in the driveway. A car makes the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast easy to explore, from redwood groves to coastal bluffs. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.
While there's no air conditioning, the home stays naturally cool thanks to the redwood canopy and mountain elevation — ceiling fans in bedrooms provide additional comfort. Your two dogs are welcome! Please follow these guidelines: never leave pets unattended, keep them off furniture, use a mat under water bowls, wipe paws when entering, and always clean up waste while keeping pets out of garden beds. The smart lock makes arrival easy, but cell service is spotty so save your access code before arriving. The vegetable garden is established and thriving — feel free to harvest any ripe produce during your stay! Internet is available, though many guests embrace the digital detox that Cazadero naturally provides. The firepit creates magical evenings — firewood availability varies seasonally — ask your host. The primary renter must be 21 or older.

We Loved the beautiful outdoor area and location in Cazadero.
The house is set in a beautiful redwood forest with the most picturesque hot tub you could imagine. Plenty of space inside and out for hosting and activities. Cornhole and firepit a big plus!
The house nestled in the redwoods! Beautiful
My friends and I had a fantastic time visiting the house in Cazadero and used it as lodging for a tubing trip in Guerneville. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher but maintenance was very responsive and resolved it immediately. However, I do not plan to stay at this rental again due some minor quirks with the home itself that prevented any visual and acoustical privacy between guests. All the bedroom doors have glass with sheer curtains, the upstairs bedrooms have open vents between floors, and oddly placed pocket doors between rooms. We did have 8 non-related guests in the house so every bedroom and bathroom was used. However, I think a smaller family would have no issues with this layout.
The home was well appointed and comfortable. But the yard is what the family really loved. Our 4 and 5 year olds just couldn’t get enough outside time. We’ll need more than a weekend when we come back.
This whole property was so beautiful , secluded yet close to coast and Russian River . It was so peaceful and has everything you could wish for . I cant wait to return .
