Very nicely decorated. Cozy with a gas fireplace. Great views of the lake where we saw a dozen deer walking across the ice in a line. We were able to access the snowmobile trails and very close to Win Man trails.
It is a very cozy, clean cabin set up nicely. They just have no walkway or no one maintains a walkway to the cabin through the snow. There wasn't even a shovel, luckily I had my own to at least clear off the stairs and doorway area before we could get in. We had to carry all of our gear and luggage about 75 yd through 2 ft of soft snow. The driveway was not cleared either, there was a large windrow of snow up by the road from the plow I had to drag my trailer through. I felt very much like they either forgot we were coming or were unprepared for guests. We arrived at approximately 10:30 p.m. and the whole place was dark and quite a ways off the road with no visible markings up by the street that indicated it was the proper place. There may have been a marker buried in the snow somewhere but nothing was visible. It's not the greatest feeling driving down into someone's property out in the sticks at that time of night in the dark not knowing if it's the right place or not.
Beautiful home in a remote location right on the lake. Super clean and comfortable. Not impressed with snow removal and the rental not having the driveway cleared or a path to the house or the steps even shoveled for our check-in. No shovel on site so if you are coming in the winter bring your own shovel. We had to borrow a shovel from a friend who lives nearby. We had to shovel our own path to the cabin (8+ inches of snow, we have pics) and clear the front steps (covered in ice, very unsafe, we have pics) to get into the cabin. Driveway was not cleared when we arrived. Took 2 phone calls and finally the next day the driveway was cleared so we could walk from our truck to the house with having boots full of snow. I expect snow in the northwoods, but when you are paying for a rental I don't expect to shovel my way in with my own shovel!
Very nicely appointed cabin with many positive features. Quiet location. Some minor issues need to be addressed: better WiFi directions, better TV/Remote directions, outdoor furniture in poor repair, outdoor garbage cans are not secure, but we recommend this property highly and will gladly return next fall.
The cabin was clean and the kitchen was fully furnished with cooking utensils, dishes, and cookware. There are small markets and restaurants located a short drive from the cabin. Beautiful view of the lake and very peaceful. It was what I needed, a relaxing 4 day getaway from the everyday hustle of city life. I can't wait to come back out here again!
We’re love this place. We hiked and biked everyday. Tons of trails and biking paths to do both. We’ll be back!
