Overview
Basecamp
Make your next group getaway one to remember at this waterfront lodge on the banks of Hackett Creek. It's an incredible space for a reunion, a holiday, or a trip with multiple families, offering a private hot tub, a deck among the evergreens, and a converted garage rec room. Natural wood and light are constants throughout the house, which is spread out across two levels. There are many spots to sit down and relax after a day spent hiking or skiing, including a sectional sofa warmed by an electric wood stove in the living room and plush couches in the dedicated media room. The gourmet kitchen is a natural gathering space as well, offering stainless steel appliances, two ovens, an island with a gas range and bar seats for three, and a window-lined dining area with both a circular table and an expansive farm table with views of the surrounding woods. The outdoor spaces are equally special, including a deck that was built around the trunks of several towering fir trees. You can bring your meals outside to the deck or to the picnic tables at the creek's edge before capping the evening with a soak in the hot tub and stories around the firepit. There's no shortage of entertainment in the converted garage rec room - an indoor/outdoor space where you can play Ping-Pong, foosball, cornhole, and basketball while projecting a favorite movie on the wall. At night, you'll find one bedroom on the first floor and the other five bedrooms upstairs. The home has three main suites upstairs, with two private baths and one dual-access bath. Additional amenities include free WiFi throughout the house, two washers/dryers for your laundry needs, and a newly added treadmill to help you stick to your workout routine. This charming house sits on nearly 12 acres in a quiet, park-like setting next to Hackett Creek. You'll be right at the edge of Mt. Hood National Forest and six miles west of the heart of Rhododendron. If you follow Mt. Hood Highway, you can easily reach the mountain's hiking trails and ski resorts, with Mt. Hood Skibowl 15 miles east, Timberline Lodge 21 miles east, and Mt. Hood Meadows 26 miles east. 30 minutes from.Meadows, great “ ski cabin” feel, also bonus game room is awesome.
Lovely home great for family reunions with children! We loved the dining area and the garage game area. The yard was nice and the back patio was large and well maintained. The fireplaces kept the home cozy. The only constructive feedback is that the kitchen needs new items for cooking. We kept our meals very simple and ordered out, but would have required some changes to prepare family meals for a longer stay. Would recommend for a mountain getaway!
This quirky-cool house is on beautiful property. The Sports Barn was super fun! We didn't think about the August heat when we originally booked the place in May, and we almost melted without any air conditioning. But the ice cold creek was just steps away from the back door and there was a plethora of electric fans on site for our use.
We were a group of 11, celebrating my and a friend's 65th birthdays. This property was perfect for us, because it had plenty of room for both gathering together and also finding space to be alone or with smaller groups. The long, pine dining table enclosed in glass off the kitchen was gorgeous. The game room in a separate outbuilding was lots of fun, as was the fire pit circle down by the beautiful, bubbling creek. (It was summer and we didn't make a fire, but the space was no less enjoyable without one.) You can't see any other properties from this place, and it was green, quiet, and gorgeous. Close enough to pop to the corner store for small items you might have forgotten, though, and close to lovely hiking trails. Overall, it was a fabulous place to spend my birthday!
Great location for a mid-size family reunion! Lots of rooms, bathrooms, and activities for all our kids. Peaceful and secluded but close enough for activities. We would love to come back!
Base Camp is set in an idyllic location. Magnificent trees, close enough to shopping and Portland, as well as access to Mt Hood and outdoor activities. The house was large and comfortable for our large family of nine!
