Wow' is all one can say when stepping into this open-plan beachfront townhome in the popular 300 Ocean Mile community and seeing the endless views of the shimmering sea and sandy beach. It's as if the sea and sand are another room in the house! Smack on the beach and a matter of feet from the sparkling Gulf - the location just doesn't get any better than this! The unobstructed views of sand and sea can be taken in from the decks, living areas, and bedrooms, and feeling the sand in your toes requires just going down a few steps from the deck. The home has been recently renovated & offers plenty of privacy for families or friends, with bedrooms on separate levels. Located in the Island's popular East End neighborhood, Ocean Mile F-1 is close to local shops, restaurants, nightlife, the multi-use path connecting the entire Island, St. George State Park, and the Lighthouse Museum. Guests can enjoy two large community swimming pools with sun decks, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. Multiple boardwalks provide easy access to the beach. The East End neighborhood is a favorite Island vacation destination with close proximity to the State Park, easy access to the bicycle path, and low-density development that gives it a peaceful vibe. Open the digital lock and go up the stairs to the comfortable open plan living/dining/kitchen area, a half bath, and the beachfront deck. The comfortable retro decor features hardwood and tile floors throughout. Stretch out to watch TV or listen to the stereo from the comfortable couches, one of which folds out into a queen sleeper. Whip up some margaritas and nachos in the well-equipped kitchen and never lose sight of that sparkling sea. Up a short set of steps, there is a full bath and a spacious bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a bed, and a small private deck. Up another short set of stairs, there is a landing with the laundry room with a stacked washer/dryer, and a lofty, airy main bedroom with a spacious bed and a private balcony with astounding views of the Gulf and shoreline. Great location on the end of the building. Overall clean unit. Most of the furniture is outdated and beat up. Unit really needs to continue to update interior decor to keep up with modern pricing. Need a hand towel hook in half bath. Large gouge in kitchen counter over dishwasher looks very poor. Kitchen stocked well. Outdoor deck table dangerously rusty.
The location was great but the tv on the main floor did not have working sound. The towel access for the length of stay was not appropriate. The furniture was worn and pots pans and flatware wasn’t clean. We had another house our family was in and if not for that we would have been even more disappointed. The bed was comfortable and we slept great with the gulf air and waves just outside the door. Just think a little love to the decor and kitchen amenities would go a long way.
Gulf view was beautiful and being on the end made it very private! Vacasa delivered are rental umbrella and beach cart to our door for use during our stay!
We like the quietness of Ocean Mile and have stayed in unit F-1 previously (see my review from 2022), and I only returned because it was listed as "recently renovated." Once again, the beautiful Gulf view greeted us as we walked in, and that is the true highlight of this unit! We were pleased by the updates we noticed - mostly simple things like replaced furniture that was previously in disrepair. We loved the updated furniture on both balconies, as this is where we spent much of our time when we weren't on the beach or in town. We appreciate how quiet the Ocean Mile complex is, including the pool area, and the beach at this end of the island is not very crowded. Areas for improvement are still the beds and lack of ceiling fans in the bedrooms, though there is a box fan in the master bedroom closet that we utilized. We do find both of these areas to be hit or miss in all rentals we stay in. Overall, for the price and location, I would definitely consider this unit in the future, unless we are bringing our dogs or traveling with another couple.
