Perfect little getaway
The property was beautiful with direct access to the beach. We loved all of the amenities that this place had to offer. It was great to enjoy coffee and watch and hear the ocean waves. Highly recommend this place
Our family enjoyed the view, the beach and the layout of the house. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room. The kitchen was well-equipped which made it easy to prepare meals.
We'd stay again, it has some design quirks and there are a few things that could use some TLC.. Lighting is terrible, but the place, the location, cannot beat, we'd come back.
A few things needed to be repaired but other than that it was a nice rental.
While the decor is beautiful, the house smelled nice & was mostly clean, some issues prevented us from fully enjoying our stay. We were not told prior to arrival that the Sandollar condominiums right next door were being demolished. Not only was it a horrible eyesore, but the demolition company did not warn us when they were tearing down the side closest to us. My husband thankfully ran outside to move our cars. By the time the wall right next to our house was being torn down, it was swaying back & forth to the point where we had to immediately vacate all of our family from our beach house until most of the wall was torn down. We were in fear for our safety in case it came crashing onto our rental. Thankfully, we vacated because the debris fell over onto our side of the fence & landed right up against our house. Broken glass, stucco, rotten wood, etc. Large debris also fell over the bushes & landed right next to where our cars had been parked. Our cars were covered in some sort of coating even after we moved them. The kitchen supplies need some reconfiguring. There were three coffee makers but no oven mitts or potholders. I discovered this AFTER I had a hot casserole dish in the oven. I had to go to Walmart to buy some. There was mouse poop in the cabinets (I have pictures). The cookware was in poor shape. I had to go to Walmart to buy a medium sized skillet so we could cook. The slatted blinds on the main floor sliding door kept falling off; many were missing altogether. Twice people came onto or into the property without notifying us. The first time was when we requested a full propane tank. The property manager gave the door code to someone delivering the full tank & that person came INTO the house while we were down at the beach, rather than using the gate to access the back porch. I confirmed this via text with a Vacasa employee. Also, when we notified Vacasa about the construction debris that littered the side area, the local manager was supposedly on the way to meet with us but never arrived. We waited outside for probably a half hour. Later we discovered that all of the debris had been cleaned up. Again, we were never notified that someone was on the property nor did we have the opportunity to talk to the manager to discuss the other issues with the demolition. It seemed as if we were being deliberately avoided. Finally, there are other smaller issues but nonetheless important ones. There was a ratty, rusted folding chair on the downstairs porch. The hammock was not in good condition. The “toy” closet in the recreation room was an absolute disaster. Everything was literally thrown in there in a pile so it’s obvious the cleaning crew neglects that area. There is black fuzzy mold coming out of the air vent on the ceiling in the rec room. No extra blankets anywhere in the house. We truly enjoyed our family time at the beach & loved having the extra space but the “little things” do matter when you’re in a home away from home.
