The location and customer service with Vacasa was great!

Lindsay G2025-09-07

The cottage is cute, but it has termites. I woke this morning to a pile of termite frass on the table next to my bed. I messaged Vacasa to alert them to the issue, and even sent photos. They said they would alert the homeowner for a solution. An hour after checkout I received a call from what I assume was the property manager, who quickly admitted the house has termites, that the owner was aware of it, and that it was just that “time of year when they come out.” She then asked if I wanted her to “come vaccuum it up.” No offer of even a partial refund. She didn’t even apologize. You know what I would have liked? To have known in advance that the home I had paid over $600 to rent was infested with termites, that I would be sleeping with them next to my head. That would have been nice to know in advance, so. I could have decided NOT to stay there. This house has a serious termite infestation. It should not be rented out to anyone until they remediate that issue.

This property was perfectly located for us. Wonderful view from the windows. Very neat property.

Location is excellent! You can walk down to the Bluff Trail, which is gorgeous! You also can walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants in Mendocino. It’s not too far from the botanical garden which is amazing anytime of the year. I really appreciate that dogs are allowed although right now there are a lot of Foxtails along the walkway to the front door.
